Tools to Help New Residents Love the Regional Lifestyle

Love the life we live is a resource for businesses to assist with attracting new employees to the Orana region in NSW.

The website promotes the relaxed lifestyle, job opportunities, friendly communities and affordable housing available across the region to help people relocate from metropolitan areas.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana has collaborated with Bourke, Cobar, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Mid-Western, Narromine, Walgett, Warren, Warrumbungle and Wellington Councils to develop the website.

The Orana workforce is currently experiencing a shortage of skilled workers. To overcome this, workers are being targeted from outside the region.

The resource recognises that finding a job is often not enough to encourage people to move to a new area. The website includes comprehensive information about employment, housing, education, available services and economic data as well as an event calendar. It showcases the region’s various benefits and demonstrates why new residents will “love the life we live”.

Targeting local businesses and potential new employees is a unique approach. Many similar websites attempt to convince people to relocate. By focusing on people who are already looking at moving, love the life we live is better able to cater to their audience and is more likely impact decision making.

Initial responses to the website have been positive. Love the life we live is still a new initiative so it will take some time before we can better understand the trends and how the website is helping people to make the move to the Orana region.
