Farmanco vies for national online title
Overcoming the tyranny of distance with technology has put Katanning’s Farmanco among the top regional businesses communicating online with their clients and staff. The farm management consultancy, with 10 other businesses, is part of the Regional Online Heroes initiative being run by the Regional Australia Institute (RAI) and will benefit from a masterclass at Google Sydney headquarters.
The finalists were selected by a jury consisting of Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss, digital entrepreneur and Birdsnest founder Jane Cay, RAI chief executive officer Jack Archer and Google Australia head of small business John Ball.
“Farmanco are a great example of a regional business getting creative online and seeing the results in their growth,” Mr Archer said. “They’ve used a range of applications including video, podcasts and cloudbased software to become leaders in their field and create a unique point of difference.”
Among the other Regional Online Heroes in the running for the ultimate title is Wheatbelt Beads, Merredin; 2 Ingredients, Caloundra, Queensland; Mind My Farm, Parkes, NSW and Therapy Connect, Deniliquin, NSW.
