“Go Remote is a platform that matches professional candidate’s profiles with roles that can be conducted remotely and that are specific to their skill set and experience. Think ‘Tinder’ but for remote employment. I hope to create a more level playing field for professionals living regionally with their city based cousins.”
The network of highly qualified and experienced professionals who live in regional, rural and remote areas in Australia is enormous. Jo Palmer’s Lightbulb Moment, website and mobile app Go Remote, aims to connect these professionals who are physically isolated from roles in which they are qualified, or may have held in the past, to roles that can be filled remotely.
With today’s workforce moving towards flexible working hours and locations, Go Remote will provide a platform for companies, corporations and government agencies to fill positions with the best candidate for the job, regardless of where they live. It will also assist small businesses or individuals to find contractors to complete small jobs or contracts, rather than having to recruit full time staff.
Such a project has the potential to benefit regional Australia as a whole; including increased rates of employment in rural areas, increase in income, and increased spending in local communities, while also addressing mental health issues related to professional isolation.
Following the Lightbulb Moments campaign, Pointer Remote Role (previously Go Remote) is actively seeking recruitment and employer partners to scale up the pool of professional roles available to people for remote work opportunities in regional Australia.
