Launch of the New ‘Leadership for our Regions’ Program
The Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) in collaboration with the Regional Australia Institute (RAI) is proud to announce the inaugural ‘Leadership For Our Regions’ program. The first in this pilot series funded by the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development will be held in the Wide Bay Burnett region of Queensland.
The eight-day, two-session residential program will be an immersive development opportunity. It will explore the economic insights and research for the region and will equip individuals with the skills to influence prosperous growth. This program is designed to challenge participants to think reflectively and critically about themselves as leaders, to explore the factors affecting the economic fabric of their region and to establish viable initiatives to support the future growth of the region.
“We’re really looking for aspiring individuals committed to their region who want to serve their community and lead into the future,” Matt Linnegar, Chief Executive of the ARLF.
The program will address conversations, beliefs, skills and actions required to engage in the incredible opportunities presented in the Wide Bay Burnett region.
“The RAI is very excited about bringing our research and taking a deep dive into the economic and social data that supports, drives and affects the region,” Liz Ritchie, Co-Chief Executive of the RAI.
From the two sessions, participants will have a stronger understanding of their leadership purpose and a collaborative network for future prosperity in the region. Scholarships are available for locals contributing to the economic success of the region. Applications open 1- 12 June 2019. 24 successful scholarship recipients will undertake the program, the first session commencing at the start of August.
