The Pathfinder Initiative is a strategy development process led by communities and informed by the Regional Australia Institute’s (RAI’s) research. It identifies the most important Future Factors for economic prosperity and what the community can do about it. Pathfinder works with local leaders to deliver an evidence based strategy.
The Pathfinder Initiative combines the knowledge and experience of local leaders and stakeholders with the RAI’s unique analytical capability, and unparalleled access to the best available information on regions.
It brings local leaders and the community together to look past short term symptoms of change and refocus attention on what’s causing them. This collaborative approach allows regions to build a shared understand of key drivers of change, how they might play out in the next 10 – 15 years and how they can organise themselves to take action.
If you are interested in a Pathfinder Initiative, contact us to discuss how it could best benefit your region.
- Collaborates with local leadership to target local issues;
- Identifies local economic development strengths and challenges by reviewing the existing status of the region using available data;
- Detects the highest priority ‘Future Factors’ shaping regional jobs growth and production, represented by scenarios quantifying future economic potential; and
- Delivers with local leaders a plan of attack so the whole region knows what to do, when and how.
