Regional Growth Prospects Report launched in Perth
This week, the Regional Australia Institute (RAI) unveiled its latest body of work, Regional Growth Prospects, at our Regions Rising event in WA.
This Report took a deep dive into the job market of four key industries in regional Australia, which included Food Processing, Tourism, Advanced Manufacturing and Creative Industries.
It highlighted ‘hotspots’ that could help drive the economic future of local economies, and was designed to spark conversations at all levels of government, industry and within regional communities.
These four industries are largely driven by the private sector and have a high human labour component. However, what we found is that employment in these four industries is not distributed evenly across regional Australia, and growth and change in these industries will not impact all regions equally.
